explain the representation of surf feature points extracted using matlab, specially type of data , refer which parameters etc.

For my research i am selecting ImageClef 2011 wikipedia collection as my data set. In the first phase i extract SURF features of an image using MATLAB. I got the points. But the points are represented by a huge number of numerical values, eg. 36,800 values for a single image. But in the data set file the SURF feature of every image is represented using 5000 values. So i can't able to forward. So please give me a clarification about the same.
