How tu use textscan or csvread to import data into MATLAB

My data set which is in a .csv file contains 7 columns and 22853 rows, I have 17 such .csv files, I am trying to append all the data into one. dat file or .txt file.
Please let me know how I can go about doing this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
