Matlab 2013a progressively slows down Ubuntu 14.04

1 view (last 30 days)
I'm currently using matlab 2013a to run long simulations (over a day) which consist of steps. When I worked with matlab 2012b, using tic and toc, for each steps the CPU time was constant. With the version of Matlab 2013a, I observe that the CPU times gets longer after a few steps (e.g. from 200 s to 900 s) while it was constant on the previous version. This is in agreement with the CPU usage reported by the system monitor.
I observe this on a ubuntu 14.04 with a Xeon processor X5650.
Thank you for any of your help.

The effects I am aware of should not be release-specific. Those are around increasing memory consumption that slow down the machine after a while. It can be addressed by a couple of countermeasures, like writing less data into the MATLAB workspace. But again, this should not be release specific. If the responses are not helpful enough, I suggest approaching technical support and prvode also your model.

Thank you for your help, I can try to reduce the memory impact although nothing changed in my code and that is why I'm surprised.

If you assess this peformance degration as a bug, please provide your model to MathWorks Support.
