After migrating to Win 7 and to matlab R2013b I cannot read old files with the Indeo 5 Codec anymore . I reintalled the Codec and all viewers can read it now. But not matlab. This is irritatting since Matlab was the reason for choosing the Codec, because it was one of the few codecs that were supported. The older Versiosn under XP are still producing Indeo5 . so we are not compatibel !!
Can you give me a hint : for this info = mmfileinfo([videofile,'*.avi']); mov = mmreader ([videofile,'*.avi']);
I get this Could not open the file for reading. Permission denied.

Felix

Felix's "Answer" moved here:
So all files produced in the past are not readable anymore for matlab win7-64 bit?
Is there no workarround except reformating all old files?
That is not impressive?

Not just MATLAB but any Windows 7 apps, since the product has basically died off. It's not MATLAB's fault. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indeo
Use an old system and convert your videos to a more modern format.
