im going to buy the optictrack flex 3 camera and i wanna know if matlab will recognize it.

Other cameras may be supported if they use the winvideo adapter, for example most or all webcams are supported because they use that winvideo adapter. In addition, some camera manufacturers may have their own adapter that was not shipped with the MATLAB installer but you can get the adapter from the camera manufacturer to install later, after the main MATLAB installation. That should let the camera be seen, and it will probably have mode modes (color spaces and pixel resolutions) than it would have if it just used the winvideo adapter.
