How can i get data with getdata but when i got some number of samples i can use it in other function while i am getting others sample?

I want to get data with getdata function but when i use it, i have to wait until the function get all samples, I want to know if can i use this function and when i get some number of samples I can use it in others function and continus with the adquisition without problem
