Cannot run brand new version of Matlab Home

I have just downloaded Matlab Home edition and used my email address when purchasing this. When settling up the program on my PC it asked for a user name and proffered a Win8 user id which I never use. I changed this to my name and then tried to run the program which failed with license manager error -9. Clicking on the troubleshoot button took me to several solutions including finding MAC addresses etc., but none of these were applicable. What do I do to get this program running? If I try to run it at the momoent I imeediately get the licence manage error with no option to correct things
