How can I open the partial differential equation tool box in MATLAB 2013a?

I write 'pdetool' in command window, but it appears that 'it's an undifined function'. So how can I open the partial differential equation tool box?

You need to have the Partial Differential Equation Toolbox in order to make use of the pdetool.
In your Command Window, type ver which will list your MATLAB and all toolbox version information. If you don's see the PDE Toolbox, then you will need to purchase it from TMW.

Downloading individual products directly is no longer supported. You need to use the installer, which permits you to download and/or install anything you are licensed for.
Newer versions of MATLAB also permit you to download and install from the Add-On Explorer for toolboxes you have licensed. I would have to check to be sure, but I think it was R2017b that introduced that functionality.
