My laptop config is: AMD A8 4500m (1.9-2.8 GHz), 8 GB ddr3 1600 MHz dual channel ram, Amd Radeon Hd 7670m+7640G dual Graphics 1.5 GB, 500 GB SSHD.
Is this normal???? Will An i3 or An i5 score better? Waiting for a quick reply.

It looks like yours is one of the slower ones. If you can afford a faster computer and want to get one, go ahead. When I run
>> bench
this is what I get with my home computer with 64 bit core i5 CPU, 8 GB ram, and hard drives:
My work computer is an 64 bit i7 with 32GB RAM and 1.9 TB of solid state drives. If you have $4200 go for that. I'm sure it will be even faster.

So u see desktops are in general at par with a workstation laptop. Unfortunately not many students own a workstation. So pls do give me a rough estimate of my laptop's performance KEEPING IN MIND the normal i3 and i5 laptops. i7 would be better I know. Also your workstation scores about 100. mine being a normal amd laptop scores around 40. Is it that bad? Pls note that my 3D performance is a lot better than the second yellow bar in the pic that I have uploaded, (xeon 3.47GHz).

I don't have an i3 or i5 laptop. Maybe someone else will answer or you can ask your classmates. I think there are versions of my computer that are around $1000-$1200. Keep in mind that mine is about as top line as you can get with a wide screen, 1.9 TB SSDs, 32 GB RAM, etc. There are cheaper configurations.
