Hi,
I am working now both with IFFT and FFT.
It is obvious that you need to know what are you doing, but I am wondering why in the help of Matlab there is so lack of information about how to proper use these functions: for example, regarding how to reorder the time and the frequency vectors after the transformations, about the scaling factor, and about the link between discrete and continuous transformations.
There is such a huge amount of different approaches on internet about how to use ifft and fft, and I can't believe that there is not an unique official guide on how to use these two functions, in different cases.
Maybe I was not able to look for the right one. Hope you can indicate me an official guide.
Best,
Maria

There are a number of MATLAB-based books on Digital Signal Processing that go into detail on the Fourier transform. I like (and frequently refer to) Proakis and Manolakis Digital Signal Processing, 4e: Principles, Algorithms, and Applications.
There are no shortcuts. You have to take the time to understand and experiment with the Fourier transform.
