Is it possible to find the tilt angle of a roof using some algorithm in MATLAB ? Please suggest some algorithm or a way. All i have is an image with buildings in it.

If that's all you have, then probably not. Why do you need the tilt angles?

My project is Extraction polygon features of roofs through satellite image, and estimation of tilt angle for slanting roof. I have identified the polygon features using edge detection algos etc. but can't figure out how to go about estimating the tilt angle. This information is required for solar panel installation purpose.

But you must have had an idea of how you were going to approach it when you chose the project. I mean, you were going to invent the algorithm, right? You weren't just going to apply some algorithm that somebody else had already invented, were you? Maybe that's okay for an undergraduate project, but not for a graduate project for a Masters or Ph.D. degree.
