Are sensor blocks in Simscape supposed to affect the system dynamics?

I am developing a piston-cylinder model (a pneumatic piston chamber, a constant volume pneumatic chamber, a translational electromechanical converter and a controlled voltage source), and adding sensors to the system affects the system dynamics. Is this supposed to happen?

What do you mean when you say "affecting system dynamics"?
Simscape is basically a multi-domain circuit simulator, so the whole "voltmeter vs. ammeter" discussion holds up for pneumatic/mechanical systems too. That is, the mechanical sensor blocks need to be connected in a particular way (i.e. series vs. parallel) -- otherwise, you might get undesired paths of zero/infinite resistance that will take your dynamics to zero.
The general rule is: Force sensors in series , Motion sensors in parallel .
If it's something completely different (i.e. not zero, but just different values), could you expand on what's going on? Thanks!
