My Matlab Installation for 2014a freezes/hangs and doesn't finish

1 view (last 30 days)
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to install Matlab 2014a. I already have 2012a. I have a student license. When I first tried installing, the process got stuck at 65% at the computer vision toolbox. The computer still worked, but it just stopped installing. The installation client was also still functioning. I know it stopped installing because I left it overnight.
Next time I tried, I unchecked the computer vision toolbox. This time, the same thing happened, but it stopped on the DSP toolbox. There were no error messages or anything. Everything appeared to still be working, except that the progress bar had not advanced at all over 10 hours.
I'm unsure how to resolve the problem.
Thank you, Edward

I had a similar problem, but my installation froze at the 85% mark.
Pressed Pause/Resume button several times - all to no avail. Worse, no indication is provided as to what the underlying issue is, or on how to recover from this state. Because the installer apparently won't (resume) install from where it left off, I had to delete the R2014a folder and all of the components that had been downloaded/installed previously.
Now, I must wait again - for what seems like an eternity - for all the MATLAB components to be re-downloaded.
Who knows how far it will get this time!?

I am having the same issue. Out of curiosity, are you both downloading over the internet connection at your school? It's very possible that its blocking you from downloading such huge files all at once. This seems to be the case especially since the download is freezing at different spots depending on what packages you choose.

Same thing is happening to me as well except for 2014b installation. It freezes/hangs on me for the Computer Vision System Toolbox. Not sure why it is doing it. Been waiting for close to 2 hrs and nothing is showing progress. Someone should provide a good solution for this.
Are those 2 particular toolboxes extremely large? If anyone knows this information, that would be nice to know in case I need to move to a location that perhaps has higher-speed Internet connection, and try the Installation there.
