If purchased the 2014a licence, can I use it for the 2013a version of Matlab?
I've bought the latest Matlab 2014a Student and it's an absolute rip-off on a Macbook Pro with retina display. Literarily, especially for a person with glasses, when trying to work in this program, I have a sensation of dizziness and feel the urge to puke.
Nevertheless, after getting the program and seeing the way it is, I tried to find a solution. I understood that the problem is Oracle's JDK. After trying numerous 'fixes' found on the interned with no success, I thought that the best thing to do is to install Matlab 2013a which uses Apples's built in JDK.
I have even asked a question here how can I get the 2013a version, but never got an answer. Even so, I managed to get a 2013a installation disk for Mac.
