pattern recognition problem: localize a small area from big image.

hi, I'm trying to locate a small area of collagen fiber(like the image below) from a larger size of an image(maybe 10 times larger) using matlab. It might just partly in the large image or rotated. Could someone tell me which algorithm I can use for recognition, or which code online I can use please?
