SimMechanics Link is not creating STL Files (SolidWorks Education Version)

2 views (last 30 days)
I followed the instructions, step by step, on how to import CAD files from SolidWorks to SimMechanics. To make sure things are working properly, I followed the example Robot Arm, and tried to import that into SimMechanics. The issue I run into is when I go to SimMechanics Link>Export>SimMechanics Second Generation and save the file, only the xml file is created. I am missing the STL files needed for this to work properly.
I go into SolidWorks and MANUALLY create STL files from this demo and then change the file directory of the SimMechanics files that use the STL files, but those seem to not be well constrained. I run the model and it doesn't even look remotely close to the robotic arm as all the parts aren't assembled properly (the joints are not located where they should be).
So, if it seems that the first issue (SimMechanics Link not creating STL Files) can't be resolved, what can I do about the other issue (having the right assembly by manually creating STL files)?
Any help from this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I am having a similar problem, also using SolidWorks and SimMechanics Second Generation. The only difference is that SimMechanics Link is only creating 2 of the 3 STL files I need.

Hi Jesus, I also encountered exactly the same problem as you. Have you solved this problem?
