How to make script and command window adjacent

I'm new to MATLAB and am still getting used to the workspace. When I open a new file or script, it always comes out in a new window. How can I get it to be opened in the same window as the commands? Thanks!

Can anyone tell how can I make the script window be on the left and the command window on the right of the screen?

That is what I would like too.
Is it possible to dock the editor and command window side-by-side instead of top and bottom?
Thanks in advance

I have 2018 version. I do not see this arrow in Editior window to dock the command window NEXT or to the right of the editior window.
How do I set this is a default, that the command window always appears adjacent to to the ediotr and not below it.

Open the script file, then go to the arrow on the right. Select dock (file name). For example, if you open a new script, arrow, it will say dock untitled.

Look in the upper-right corner for the down arrow (circled in red in the screenshot below). Then choose "Dock Editor". KEN

Thank you so much! I know just enough about this program to get myself into trouble and not know how to get back out!

I tried this but I am only able to dock the windows on top/bottom not left/right.

This does not look the same when using a windows computer. Any suggestions? There is an arrow on the right but it only gives command window options.
Thanks,

How do I set the screen to show available files on the left and code on the right?

To move a tool like the Editor window or the Current Folder window, drag the tool by its title bar to a new location.
