I had matlab on my previous server which recently crashed. I had to move into a new server, so just tried to install matlab on this new machine. But when I try to activate my license, I get error on activation saying my license is being used on another machine and I need to deactivate that. Problem is that server is completely wiped out and I have no way to access it. What should I do to discard previous activation so I can use the matlab on my new machine?
Thanks,

You need to call them and plead for mercy. Explain your case - I'm sure it's not the first time it's happened.

At the top of this page, on the right hand side, click on "My Community Profile". On the page that comes up, on the left side, click on "Manage Licenses". Once that comes up, there will be a "License and Activation" tab. You will see a list of "Activation Label". You might possibly have to click on one of them. When the appropriate one is expanded, on the right hand side of the Details area, you will see a Deactivate button. Click on it. Now you can go onto the replacement machine and activate it against the license.
