Why does the position of a Double Acting Hydraulic Cylinder exceed the piston stroke's limits in SimHydraulics?

In my SimHydraulics model, the travel of a Double Acting Hydraulic Cylinder exceeds the limits of the piston stroke when the pressure gets too high.

The piston stroke is implemented with a hard stop.
Once the piston moves past the maximal value (piston stroke parameter) and minimal value (zero), it is acted on with a spring/damper whose contact stiffness/damping properties are specified within the "Hard Stop properties" tab of the cylinder's block parameters.
If the model shows the cylinder moving well outside the bounds, there are probably large pressures that are producing forces that overpower the contact stiffness/damping.
As a workaround, check the fluid pressures or try increasing the contact stiffness/damping.
