how to import data and load (text file ) into matlab
any info and function about text file in matlab ( string in matlab)

I would use a utility designed for such things, such as perl or gawk.
In the case of missing values, would there be fewer than 40 commas on the line, or would there still be 40 commas but some of the 41 fields would have nothing in them ?
