Superimpose Surface Plot onto CAD model

Hi All.
I was wondering if it is possible to superimpose a surface plot onto a CAD model in MATLAB.
My question is very similar, if not exactly the same as this:

unfortunately it seems the links answering this question are expired.
Any Ideas?
