I have a dell XPS laptop, and was using the built in webcam to do some face recognition scripts, but I wanted to see if I could use a USB camera too.
The USB one was not recognized, but I tried disabling my integrated one to see if that would help or not. Either way it didn't, but when I re-enabled it and ran a imaqhwinfo, I no longer got winvideo to show up.
instead I get this:
ans =
InstalledAdaptors: {1x4 cell}
MATLABVersion: '8.0 (R2012b)'
ToolboxName: [1x25 char]
ToolboxVersion: '4.4 (R2012b)'
Any idea why the adapter is gone? All my adapters seem to be gone, and I don't know what happened to them!!

When I go into the 1x4 cell, all the adaptors show there... so thats a good sign, but how do I unwrap that cell??
Thanks!

By unwrapping the cell, do you mean viewing the contents?
If yes, type the following in your MATLAB command line
hwInfo = imaqhwinfo
Now to get the adapters,
hwInfo.InstalledAdaptors
You will then be able to preview the list of Installed adapters.
If you are trying to achieve something else, can you elaborate more on your workflow?
