Best way to import vertices into a matrix?

I have a figure I drafted in a commonly used 3D modeling software. I want to import the verticies of said model into matlab as matrix containing the X,Y,Z data of each of the verticies. How does one go about doing this?

in which form you have exported data from that software? can you show some sample of the data?
