Troubles with License and Host ID

For some reason, my Host ID changed on my computer, so I get the standar "License Error -9" message since the Host ID does not match the licensed one. I have tried to activate my license but since I have a single stand-alone license, it says that all of my licenses are used up and I can not activate it on this new host id. If I try to first deactivate the license on my machine, it states that I don't have a license to deactivate since the Host ID does not match. I have tried to change the Host ID on my Mac, but even though it changes, I still get the same error message. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jason, try following the instructions from this answer to deactivate your license.
Afterwards you should be able to reactivate the license on your machine. This error often occurs after upgrading your operating system to OSX Mountain Lion 10.8 or to OSX Mavericks 10.9.
