Matlab 2010b won't install MCR due to vcredist_x86 error

2 views (last 30 days)
Hi, so i have this problem ... When i run MCR 7.14 installer first it checks if vcredist is installed (it is so at first i thought its outdated version or something) so i've let the installer download vcredist executable and ran it, but immediately i got error message and MCR installer shut down. And no, reinstalling vcredist separately dind't solve it, i also tried x86 and x64 vcredist, i have admin rights, antivirus is disabled and uac is disabled. Seems to me like MCR installer is not checking if vcredist_x86 is installed but it's forcing it and cannot continue without it.

I've had that problem but getting the redistributable from the Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 or http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=9B2DA534-3E03-4391-8A4D-074B9F2BC1BF&displaylang=en and installing it separately always worked for me (unlike you). Rather than re-install your old version, why not just install the latest version?

Well, seems like no one else encountered this problem. Thanks for your reply Image Analyst. I believe your advice help other users.

I don't see any reason for not contacting them. Just because 11 work is no reason not to contact them for the 12th one that doesn't work. They offer free help on installations so I don't really know your reason for not contacting them.
