Simulink build fail from R2012a, R2012b, R2013a, R2013b on Windows 8

By default, Windows 8 only enables shortname (8dot3) creation on the system drive, but I need to install Matlabs on a drive other than C (e:\program files\matlab).
But if I do that and try to build a model using VS2012 and the grt.tlc template, the building process will fail saying "E:\Program" is not recognized as an internal or external command." as shown below.
I have to install the software on a non-system drive, and I am not allowed to change the property of any other drives. Is there a work around for this?
Thanks for your time and have a nice day.
Regards,
Yan

Yes, If you have a trial, or if you have enough activations or you deactivate from the old system before activating on the laptop.

The real problem is that old versions of Simulink did not always properly quote pathnames. You would have had the same problem if you had installed on C:\Program Files .
If you install those old versions into a directory that does not contain any spaces or special characters you should be okay.
