Is there a way to get the BOXPLOT function to display datapoints overlaid on the chart in MATLAB 8.2(R2013b) ?

I would find it very useful if BOXPLOT had an option to display the data points overlaid on the chart. I would also ideally like to be able to then remove outlier data points using the data brushing tool, and then have the box plot recalculate itself to remain a valid representation of the data points.
I would also like to be able to plot 'mean diamonds', also known as a 'diamond plot'. This is very commonly used in SAS/JMP software.This method uses confidence intervals (CI) as a supplement to conventional p value. By using CI, the researcher can look at the group differences by means and variability. As the sample size increases, the variability decreases and the CI gets narrower. JMP software provides a powerful tool named Diamond plot to visualize the CI. It essentially condenses a lot of information.
Consider the following:
The mean diamonds present the sample averages as point estimates (center lines) and as confidence intervals (top and bottom points of the diamonds). The default confidence level is 95%. At any time, you can change this level with the ‘Set Alpha Level’ command, and all of the reports are updated. In addition, the width of the diamond is proportional to the size of the group. This graphic is distinct from the previous standard deviation lines, and it is richer and gives a better answer about the location of each group.

There is currenlty no way to to do it using the BOXPLOT function
