To get color output from MATLAB Editor, user has to select color option from to dialogs. File->PageSetup->Color text and File->Print->Appearence->Color
In MATLAB 7.4 (R2007a) these settings fail to generate color print out.

If the color preference for a color printer is set to grayscale from the operating system, then MATLAB will not print in color regardless of MATLAB printing settings. This is a limitation of the Java printing implementation and we do not anticipate that it will change.
If you are attempting to print a file in color from MATLAB, but the file is printing in black and white, ensure that:
The printer is set to print in color at the operating system level.
For example, on Windows XP:
Select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes > color-printer-name.
In the dialog box that opens, select Printer > Printing Preferences > Color and clear the Print In Grayscale option.
In MATLAB, the Color Appearance is set to color.
For example, select File > Print > Appearance > Color Appearance > Color.
