When I try to add Spreadsheet Link EX in the Excel Add-Ins, I receive the following error: ERROR: License Manager Dialog: Excel Link license checkout failed!
How can I use Spreadsheet Link EX without receiving this error?

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 2010b (R2010b). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
This error can occur if you have more than one installation of MATLAB on your machine. The problem is that Excel Link is opening an instance of the wrong installation of MATLAB.
To fix this problem, you can register the correct installation of MATLAB as an automation server with the command line flag -regserver. You will have to launch the same installation of MATLAB as the one that the Excel Link Add-In points to. You can then quit this session and launch Excel, which should now run with Spreadsheet Link EX. For more detailed instructions, see the related solutions.
You can also try running the following command within the desired MATLAB installation:
!matlab -regserver
This error can also occur if the license is not registered with the correct username. You may have to get another license file which is registered with the correct username. If the above suggested steps does not solve the issue, please contact MathWorks Technical Support to diagnose any license related errors.
